Send Only Qualified Calls to Google Ads as Offline Conversions
Smart Bidding learns from the conversions you send it. If every call longer than a set number of seconds counts as a conversion, Google Ads learns to find more calls that last that long, whether or not they were good callers.
The default setup and its blind spot
Most call campaigns use Google's call conversions with a minimum call length. That is a reasonable start, but a minimum length can't tell a qualified caller from an existing customer, a wrong number that stayed on the line, or someone outside your service area.
What offline conversions change
Offline conversion imports let you tell Google Ads which clicks or calls led to a real outcome after the fact. When you upload only calls that met your qualification rules, the bidding signal reflects good callers rather than long ones.
- Qualified calls as the main conversion
- Optional values, such as a higher value for long calls or signed cases, for value-based bidding
- Call matching by Google click ID from your landing page, or by call details from call ads
Things to watch when you switch
- Conversion volume drops. Fewer calls count, so reported conversions fall. That is expected; judge results on cost per qualified call.
- Learning period. Bidding strategies need time to adjust after a conversion change. Avoid other big changes during that window.
- Don't double count. Decide which conversion action is primary for bidding and set the others to secondary.
- Upload regularly. Fresh, frequent uploads keep the signal current.
How Tagloud does it
Tagloud checks each call with AI against your rules, then the Google Ads script uploads only qualified calls as offline conversions every hour. Turn it on per source with one switch. You can also send value-based conversions for qualified, 5+ minute and signed-case calls. See the Google Ads integration.
Try it on your own calls. 7 days and 100 analyzed calls free, no card needed. Connect CallGrid, Ringba or Retreaver in about 5 minutes.
